Teen Center to host open house Saturday

The community is invited to an open house at the Teen Center from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

The event is a thank-you to the community from the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District, and all are welcome to stop the space in the Bainbridge Aquatic Center and check out what the center has to offer for local teens.

Visitors are welcome to join one of the air hockey or foosball tournaments and win a prize, check out the center’s game room, read up its history, sign up to participate in Career Day on Nov. 17, and enjoy some light refreshments.

The Bainbridge Island Teen Center first opened in 1992 as a joint effort between Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District, Bainbridge Island Rotary Club, and the Bainbridge Island School District. For the last 26 years it has been a safe place for teens to relax, be quiet, be loud, be original and most important, be themselves.

The Teen Center would like to thank the Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation and Bainbridge Island Rotary Club for recently awarding the Teen Center grants that went toward purchasing new furniture, air hockey and ping pong tables.
