Saint Cecilia Catholic School students in kindergarten through eighth grade, as well as their teachers and many parents, took the ferry to Seattle Wednesday, June 5 for a field trip to the aquarium.
“We had a wonderful time,” said Principal Susan Kilbane. “When looking at the huge tank in the photo, second-grader Annie Dunn was amazed and said, ‘It feels like we are in it!’”
Kilbane said the school’s student council raised money — via a Casa Rojas Express takeover in October, a McDonald’s “McTakeover” in May, and monthly ice cream sandwich sales — to pay for tickets for the students, seven teachers and 13 parents.
It was, she added, the first such all-ages trip for the school.
“A good time was had by all,” she said.
