St. Cecilia Parish starts live streaming

St. Cecilia Parish on Bainbridge Island will start live streaming Daily Mass on Facebook starting Monday, March 16, the church has announced.

Daily Mass with Father Mark Kiszelewski at the Catholic church started live streaming with a cell phone on Thursday as the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) worsened in Washington state.

A total of 31 people in Washington have died so far from COVID-19, according to Thursday’s estimates from the Washington State Department of Health, and 457 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the state.

St. Cecilia Parish also announced this week that all activities, meetings, and Masses have been suspended.

The parish office has also been closed to walk-in visitors.

The church is staying open for individual prayer during weekday office hours.

Church officials are asking its members to practice “social distancing” while at the church — and everywhere, as well — by staying 6 feet away from others.
