Smith earns degree from WGU

Brian Smith of Bainbridge Island has been awarded a degree from Western Governors University.

Smith earned a bachelor of science degree in business management.

The online, nonprofit university held its 74th commencement ceremonies for Seattle in the spring and summer of this year to celebrate the recent graduation of more than 10,000 students from across the country.

Established in 1997 by 19 U.S. governors with a mission to expand access to high-quality, affordable higher education online, WGU now serves more than 119,000 students nationwide and has more than 158,000 graduates in all 50 states.
