A 40-year-old Seattle man was charged with second-degree burglary in Kitsap County District Court Tuesday after authorities alleged he was the intruder who entered a Bainbridge Island home earlier this week and covered a wall with anti-Semitic phrases written in red ink.

Jamie Woodward Weindl was arrested by Bainbridge police on an outstanding warrant for a residential burglary just after 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4.

According to court documents, Weindl was taken into custody and, while he was being taken to jail, began saying “white power,” “black power,” “Aryan” and other phrases that were followed up with foul language.

Police said they had received numerous complaints Monday that a man matching Weindl’s description was trespassing and displaying unusual behavior in the area near the burglarized home. Bainbridge police also said his phrases matched the ones that had been written on the wall inside the home that had burglarized the same day in the 11200 block of Kallgren Road Northeast.

Weindl was arrested for second-degree malicious mischief and residential burglary and was booked into Kitsap County Jail late Monday.

Bail was set at $12,500 for the second-degree burglary charge. Bail was also set at $10,000 for a separate failure to appear/contempt of court charge.

Second-degree burglary carries a maximum 10-year prison term and $20,000 fine upon conviction.
