Porn suspect arrested again

A former Bainbridge high school teacher suspected of possessing child pornography was arrested in Renton Monday after jumping bail.

Charles Patrick Murphy was arrested in January by Bainbridge Police after numerous images and videos of unclothed boys were allegedly discovered in his home and on his classroom computer at Bainbridge High School.

Murphy, who taught science at the school for several years, was subsequently fired by the district.

He faces three counts of child pornography in a trial set for early September.

Murphy left the jurisdiction in violation of his bail, but was arrested just two hours after Bainbridge Police asked for help in locating him.

Murphy’s whereabouts were reported by a citizen who spotted his car at a Renton address.

Renton Police quickly located and arrested Murphy without incident, according to Bainbridge police. He will be sent back to Kitsap County to face charges that he violated the conditions of his release.
