Photo inadvertently captured image of man prior to robbery
Bainbridge Police have released a newly-acquired photo said to be of the man who held up a Winslow drugstore at gunpoint Halloween evening.
The unidentified Caucasian male – described by witnesses as being 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build – was wearing a grey sweat-suit and a “skull” mask when he entered Vern’s Winslow Drug at 6:52 p.m., displayed a handgun to an employee and demanded prescription pain medications.
The employee complied, putting an undisclosed amount of medications into a plastic bag, and the suspect fled through the back door.
Detective Scott Weiss said the photo was given to police two days ago by a patron who was in the store just before the robbery and inadvertently captured the image while taking a picture of a friend’s costume.
Witnesses confirmed that the man in the picture is the robbery suspect.
Weiss said police have received several tips in recent days and are awaiting lab results from evidence collected at the scene.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Bainbridge Police at 842-5211.
