BI Tree Lighting Festival coming up Nov. 25

With the holidays coming up, lots of activities are planned on Bainbridge Island and elsewhere in Kitsap County.
On BI, the Tree Lighting Festival will take place Nov. 25 from 6-7 p.m. at Town Square. Bainbridge High School band and choir will perform, and there will be snippets from the Nutcracker Ballet. BI police will provide s’mores, and Santa also will be there. Plus you can create messages on a giant paper chain that will hang on the tree at KiDiMu at 301 Ravine Lane NE or little island crafts at 278 Winslow Way E, Suite 103.
On BI, starting Dec. 2 and going on through the month is the Winter Wonders Holiday Event at Bloedel Reserve at 7571 Dolphin Drive.
On Dec. 3 and 10 from 1-3 p.m. there will be a Hollydays Wreath Making and Plant Walk at Islandwood, 4450 Blakely Ave. NE.
Santa Claus will be available for pictures from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manor House at Pleasant Beach Dec. 2 and 16. On Dec. 3, 10 and 17 there will be Gingerbread House Parties there from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Also on Dec. 3 there will be Wreath & Holiday Decor at 9200 NE Wardwell Road.
You can learn how to make a Wreath at Fletcher Bay Winery from 6-8 p.m.
On Dec. 9, there will be a Holiday Open House at Town & Country Market from noon to 4 p.m.
The Holiday Hootenanny will be at the Lynwood Theatre from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 16.
In Poulsbo Nov. 24 the Tree Lighting Ceremony will kick off the holiday season from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Waterfront Park. Santa will lead a holiday procession and light the tree around 5 p.m. He will then be available for photographs. There will be live performances along with cookie and ornament decorating.
On Nov. 25 Blue Heron Jewelry’s 1st Holiday Hunt will occur in downtown Poulsbo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hunt for ornaments hidden downtown. you may get a prize if you find one.
Also on Nov. 24-25 there will be the PNW Holiday Market at the Kiana Lodge, 14976 Sandy Hook Road NE. Cost is $5, and there will be 45 vendors from noon to 6 p.m.
Light and Gold – A Holiday Concert by the Poulsbo Community Orchestra will take place at First Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. at 18920 4th Ave. NE.
In Poulsbo, one of its largest holiday celebrations of the year is Julefest, which will be Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to dusk downtown. The event includes Norwegian street food, Scandinavian vendors, and a Lucia Bride ushered to shore in a Viking boat. The evening culminates with the annual bonfire where visitors will witness the Viking King’s Winter Solstice Proclamation.
On Dec. 9 from 5-9 p.m. the Lighted Ships Parade will be held at Waterfront Park. 2023 marks the 54th year the Poulsbo Yacht Club has brightened the holidays for the community with this parade. Along the route Santa calls out personal greetings.
In Kingston, on Dec. 9 there will be an Ameraucana Farms Holiday Wreath Workshop at the Kingston House, 25300 Miller Bay Road NE, from noon to 3 p.m.
On Dec. 2, the Port of Kingston will be putting up its huge display of Christmas lights at Mike Wallace Park downtown. The lights will be up through Jan. 9, 2024.
In Port Orchard, there will be the Festival of Chimes and Lights Dec. 1-3 at the marina, 707 Sidney Parkway. Free refreshments and Christmas Tree Lighting are part of it. There’s a small parade, Santa and much more. The marina is also hosting Christmas Lane with decorated boats.
On Nov. 26 there will be a wreath-making class from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Yoked Farmhouse and Brewery.
In Silverdale, the Titans Santa Breakfast Fundraiser will be from 8-10 a.m. at Applebee’s Grill.
In Bremerton, the PNW Holiday Market at the Kitsap Conference Center will take place Nov. 25-26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Also on Dec. 2, the 3rd Annual Kitsap Handmade Holiday Market will be at the Crossroads Neighborhood Church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission with 50 vendors.
A Christmas Cakesicle Class will be Dec. 10 at 330 N. Callow Ave. in Bremerton.
