Laura fought a four year-plus battle with ovarian cancer going through many treatments. She eventually succumbed at age 56 early on a Saturday morning at Tacoma General Hospital.

She is survived by her parents, Richard H. (Vancouver, B.C.) and Patricia Thompson (Bainbridge Island); as well as siblings, Cheryl (Dan, Ria Yusuf, Colten) Perrett (Kelowna, B.C.), Elizabeth, (Madeleine) Laplante (Bainbridge Island), Martin (Dylan, Hunter, Riley, Zachary) (LaJolla, California), Dean (Asako,Gabrielle, Bradley, Momoko) (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Richard L. (Abigail Hamilton, Walter, Hugo) (Bainbridge Island). She left behind her “angels” at Arms Around Bainbridge and good friends and customers at Town & Country Markets where she worked.

Laura also lived in Los Angeles, Calif., Vancouver, B.C. and the Columbia Valley in British Columbia and many will remember her there for her strong work ethic and fun personality.

Laura had many interests such as motorcycling, gardening, cooking, traveling, camping, reading, music, karaoke and fashion to name a few. She never missed a Seahawks game; she was also a diehard Raiders fan (but was letting them go if they moved to Las Vegas).

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at The Manor House at Pleasant Beach in Lynwood, Bainbridge Island. In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to Arms Around Bainbridge (http://www.armsaroundbainbridge.org).
