Get ready to go native.

The Bainbridge Island Land Trust’s native plant sale will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at the First Baptist Church, located on the corner of Highway 305 and Madison Avenue.

This year some 50 species of native plants — including trees, shrubs, perennials, ground covers and ferns — will be available for purchase. Organizers also noted the special offerings available to plant enthusiasts. Each year a few new native plants are added to the sales list to give residents the opportunity to purchase some unique and often difficult-to-obtain native plants.

Native plant experts will be on site to answer questions and to give advice on how to use and grow these special plants. A presentation will be given at 10 a.m. to acquaint the public with the various items that will available at the sale.

All proceeds will benefit the Bainbridge Island Land Trust.
