Poulsbo man charged with rape of girl, 14
A 30-year-old Poulsbo man was in Kitsap County Superior Court June 3 facing three charges, including rape of a 14-year-old girl.
Bail was $530,000.
He faces life in prison and a $50,000 fine on that charge. He also faces two counts of sex communication with a minor. Each of those carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Court documents say Kitsap deputies were told by a dad that his daughter had run away, not getting off the school bus as she should have. She was last seen at a fast-food restaurant.
Video showed the girl get into a truck owned by the suspect. She was found later that day at a school in Port Orchard.
The girl told her mother that she was sexually assaulted by the man she had met on Snapchat. She hid on the floor of his vehicle so as not to be seen on the video. He took her to his trailer and forced her to drink alcohol.
She went to the hospital and took a SANE exam. DNA matched the victim and suspect.
The suspect said he was at work that day, but his employer said he had taken sick leave.
Man tosses milk at brother; threatens him with machete
A 51-year-old Bremerton man who tossed a cup of milk at his brother and threatened him with a machete was in Superior Court June 2 charged with two crimes.
He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for harassment threat to kill and a year in jail and a $5,000 fine for assault.
Court papers say Kitsap deputies arrested the man May 30 at 12:57 p.m. at Armstrong Lane NE.
The victim said they got into an argument over their mother’s finances. The suspect tossed a cup of milk at him, followed up by a punch. He then went to a nearby trailer and returned with a 12-inch black and orange machete.
Woman attacked from behind and raped
A 29-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court June 4 arrested on a May 30 warrant for rape.
He faces life in prison and a $50,000 fine. Bail was $200,000.
Court records say Kitsap deputies originally responded Sept. 6, 2024 at 10:35 p.m. to a sexual assault in the 5000 block of Highway 303 in Bremerton.
The victim said she was waiting for a friend in a grassy area behind a store when she was attacked from behind. She tried to escape, but he was too strong. The man forced her to have sex. At about the same time dispatch received reports of a man harassing women in that general area. He took off on foot, but was caught after a short chase.
Woman arrested after 100 mph chase
A 33-year-old woman was in Superior Court June 2 charged with two crimes, including eluding officers at speeds up to 100 miles per hour.
She faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for attempting to elude and a year in jail and a $5,000 fine for driving with a suspended license. Bail was $60,000.
Court documents say Kitsap deputies arrested the woman at 6:12 p.m. June 1 in the 6000 block of SW Old Clifton Road in Port Orchard. The victim said he found out his stolen motor vehicle was going to be sold at a store by the suspect.
The victim saw a gun and then a suspect vehicle took off. Several law enforcement agencies joined in the chase. The suspect vehicle went through a few stop signs and hit speeds of 100 mph.
Black smoke, possibly caused by a damaged undercarriage, was seen before the suspect vehicle slowed down. Patrol vehicles surrounded the vehicle, forcing it to stop. She said she didn’t stop because she didn’t want to get in trouble.
Woman in apartment she wasn’t supposed to be in
A 33-year-old woman from Seattle was in Superior Court June 5 charged with residential burglary.
She faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines. Bail was $50,000.
Court papers say Bremerton police arrested the woman June 4 at 12:37 p.m. in the 5600 block of Kitsap Way in Bremerton. The property manager of the building said a new tenant arrived to find someone already living there illegally and had changed the locks.
An officer pried the door open. The woman ended up having a warrant out of Bellevue for residential burglary. She said she rented the room from a man she met online. Damage in the apartment included door trim broken off walls, drawing and writing in ink on doors and windows, and broken blinds on a sliding glass door.
The suspect had meth on her; she said it keeps her calm.
After 3 months, things go bad for couple
A 39-year-old Kingston man was in Superior Court June 3 charged with assault.
He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
Court papers say Kitsap deputies made the arrest June 2 at 7:58 p.m. on W. Sunn Fjord Lane in Bremerton. The report says a woman on May 31 grabbed her by the hair and threw her around. She said things had been great for three months, but then he started yelling at her, throwing things and then being physical.
He took her cell phone and when she asked for it back she fell on the bed, and he got on top of her with a pillow to try to “smother” her. They ended up in a vehicle, where the physicality continued. He fled but was later taken into custody.
Girl, 14, reports man tried to get into house
A 37-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court June 4 charged with residential burglary.
He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. Bail was $50,000.
Court records say Bremerton police arrested the man June 3 and 2:01 p.. on Trenton Avenue.
A 14-year-old girl was home alone with her dogs alerted her to a man scoping out the home. She locked herself in a bedroom. He tried to flee when police arrived, but he was caught. He was wearing a black hoodie and garden gloves even though the temperature was 74 degrees. He also tried to hide an empty backpack.
The teen identified the suspect in a field lineup.
