Islanders can become a part of pickleball history

The Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation is building a pickleball center at Battle Point Park, and residents have an opportunity to become a part of history.

Pickleball was born right here on Bainbridge and the foundation is getting ready to honor the game’s three founders — Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell and Barney McCallum — while the last living founder is still around.

Buy a brick to honor your pickleball club, an ambassador who has contributed to the growth of the game, an individual who has shown great passion for the game or simply because you want to support this historic effort. Bricks will be used to create walkways around the common areas between the six new pickleball courts.
