Input sought on Highway 305 issues

Community members can help shape the future of the highway by attending one of three scheduled open house events or taking an online survey.

Kitsap County, Kitsap Transit, the Suquamish Tribe, the city of Bainbridge Island, the city of Poulsbo and the Washington State Department of Transportation are seeking input to identify transportation issues within the Highway 305 corridor.

In July 2015, the Washington State Legislature included $38.6 million for Highway 305 construction and safety improvements between the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal and Hostmark Street NE in Poulsbo. Community members can help shape the future of this vital corridor by attending one of three scheduled open house events or taking an online survey.

“State Route 305 is a vital corridor for residents, businesses and visitors to Bainbridge Island,” said City Manager Doug Schulze. “Whether you bike, walk, use public transportation or drive, your input is vital to determining what happens in this corridor.”

The survey is available until Nov. 13 and can be found at the project website, www.kitsapgov.com/pw/sr305.htm.

An open house will be held at the Bainbridge High School Commons from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3.
