To the editor,

On Saturday, Oct. 24 Housing Resources Bainbridge (HRB) celebrated our “Past, Present and Future” with the community during our annual gala. This year HRB honored two very special Housing Heroes; Nobelle and Hailey. Both of these young ladies have recognized a need and are working tirelessly to fill it.

Nobelle fills backpacks — not only with dignity and compassion — but also with toiletries for homeless men and women in Seattle. Hailey just completed the construction of her first personal homeless shelter for a homeless man in Kitsap County.

HRB is inspired by Nobelle and Hailey’s awareness of issues beyond what many preteen girls may consider important. They are poised, mature, kind human beings. We are pleased to celebrate and honor Nobelle and Hailey as this year’s HRB Housing Heroes for their work.

We are grateful to our many business sponsors who continue to support the work and outreach we do in our community; Clark Construction, Sean Parker Architects, A Kitchen That Works, Browne Wheeler Engineers, Carley Construction, Guild Mortgage, HomeStreet Bank, Kitsap Bank, Puget Sound Energy, Salmon Bay Lending, Union Bank, Ad-West Realty, Best Wester Plus, Eleven Winery, Pacific NW Title and Watson McDonell CPA, and to our larger community who continue to support our desire to create affordable housing solutions that preserve the diversity and vitality of Bainbridge Island.
