Ehrich earns degree from UP

Margaret Ehrich of Bainbridge Island graduated from the University of Portland on May 5.

She earned a bachelor of science degree with majors in both physics and mathematics, and has been accepted into the University of Portland’s master of arts in teaching program, which will commence in July.

Earlier this month, Ehrich and University of Portland professor Tamar More were at Western Washington University in Bellingham presenting research to the 20th annual meeting of the American Physics Society NW Section, where they shared research supporting and evaluating student’s written scientific explanations.

Ehrich, a 2015 graduate of the Shanghai American School (Pudong Campus) in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, was a student at Captain Johnston Blakely Elementary School before moving overseas with her family.

Upon completing her master’s program, she plans to teach domestically before ultimately moving into an international teaching assignment.

She is the daughter of Martin and Leanne Ehrich of Bainbridge Island.
