Edgar and Molly are this week’s adoptable pets

This week’s adoptable pets are Edgar and Molly.

For adoption through Kitsap Humane Society:

Meet Edgar!

He is a big brown tabby kitty with white patches. This handsome man is about 7 years old and is looking for a patient and loving home in which to live out his senior years.

Edgar is a pretty nervous guy who takes a very long time to trust new people, but with lots of time and dedication, you will see what a great cat Edgar can be. Once he is comfortable, Edgar loves to be brushed. He will stretch out and purr with happiness and even “make biscuits” with his feet.

The way to Edgar’s heart though is through his stomach — he absolutely loves wet food and will come and greet you once he realizes you’re the person who brings it to him.

Edgar is a pretty independent guy, though he does enjoy chin scratches and ear rubs from time to time. When he’s done with getting pets, Edgar can be a bit sassy to say he’s done with getting attention.

Edgar is very timid, so he needs a home without kids. He also needs to be the only kitty in his home. Edgar is looking for a cat-savvy adopter who will give him the time he needs to come out of his shell. Could that be you? Edgar is currently spending time in a foster home, so meet and greets are by appointment only; e-mail sfairweather@kitsap-humane.org to request an adoption application.

Meet Molly!

She is a 6-year-old Greyhound/Lab mix.

This girl is super sweet and loves to be with her people. She is very active and playful and enjoys running around the yard playing fetch. She goes crazy for squeaky toys and is the champion of tug-of-war.

This girl is super smart, too. Molly knows “sit,” “down,” “come” and “give paw.” She is housetrained and crate trained and has even had some dog friends in the past.

Molly can be a little hesitant with strangers, so she will need a patient family who will give her time to settle in and feel comfortable in her new home.

While she is perfectly content hanging out at home, she may also enjoy going on quiet hikes around the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She really loves the beach and is great on leash.

Molly needs a home with a securely fenced-in yard, and needs a home with no cats or small animals such as bunnies or chickens. Molly would do best in a home without young kids under 12.

You can meet Molly and other adoptable animals at Kitsap Humane Society, open six days a week.
