Three islanders are arrested as police find heroin and cocaine.
Police seized heroin, cocaine and weapons in a raid on a Lynwood Center Road home Friday, breaking up a suspected crack cocaine manufacturing operation.
Mathias Klous, 53, and Debora Stadler, 43, both of Bainbridge Island, were arrested and booked into the Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver controlled substances.
They were charged with possession of cocaine and released on Monday, but could face more charges at their next court hearing in October, authorities said.
A 33-year-old Bainbridge man also was arrested at the home on an outstanding felony drug warrant issued by King County Sheriffs.
“I’ve seen more and I’ve seen less,†Det. Scott Weiss said of the six grams of cocaine and three or four grams of heroin found at the house.
Police served a narcotics search warrant on the residence in the 5000 block of Lynwood Center Road at 3 p.m. Friday.
A semi-automatic rifle and a handgun also were seized, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Evidence suggested that the suspects were manufacturing crack cocaine in the kitchen of the house, police said.
A fourth suspect, a Bainbridge man, was detained at the scene and later released.
Weiss said police acted quickly once they were tipped off because the home was in a residential neighborhood near a school bus stop.
There had been no drug-related complaints about the house, although one neighbor recently called police after reportedly seeing a registered sex offender there.
Police believe drugs were sold elsewhere to avoid drawing attention to the home, which is owned by Klous.
Weiss said the weapons were hidden in a closet and under a mattress in one of the home’s bedrooms.
