The Integrated Wellness Center is welcoming a new chiropractic doctor to its team.

Dr. Kay McGowan has joined Dr. Julie Rosenblatt and her team of wellness professionals at the center in Winslow.

“Kay innately understands and is fully committed to our gentle, compassionate, intuitive approach to chiropractic healing,” said Rosenblatt, the director and founder of the center. “She brings a bright light and a contagious smile into our practice.”

McGowan grew up in Northern New Jersey surrounded by water and felt an instant connection to the Pacific Northwest. She is an avid runner — having completed both a half marathon and full marathon — as well as a skier and snowboarder.

She received her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree following an intensive, 40-month full-time resident study and clinical internship at the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, New York. The program places special emphasis on neuromusculoskeletal conditions and overall patient wellness. During her chiropractic clinical rotations, McGowan worked with medically underserved, geriatric and pediatric patients, helping them return to the activities they enjoyed most, whether it was playing with their grandchildren for longer periods of time or working in the garden from dawn to dusk.

“I am captivated with the anatomy and mechanics of the spine and how it can impact a person’s overall health and well-being,” McGowan said. “I feel fortunate to join a practice that emphasizes the interconnectedness of body, mind and spirit.”

Founded in 1994, the Integrated Wellness Center is a collective of professional health and wellness practitioners who provide chiropractic care, therapeutic massage, laser therapy, organic skincare and warm saltwater pool aqua therapy to the Bainbridge Island-North Kitsap community.

According to the center, its practitioners recognize the uniqueness of each individual and spend quality time listening to what each patient, and each patient’s body, tells them. Based on that understanding and using a collaborative team approach, they design a unique treatment plan specific to each patient’s needs.
