360 new COVID cases confirmed in Kitsap

Over the last week, Kitsap’s case rate per 100,000 residents has increased to 464

On Tuesday, the Kitsap Public Health District confirmed 360 new COVID cases in the previous 24 hours, bringing the countywide total to 21,340 since the pandemic began in March of 2020.

Of the new cases, North Kitsap had 66, and Bainbridge Island 27; 93 were in South Kitsap, 92 in Bremerton; and 75 in Central Kitsap. Seven cases came from “unknown” areas of the county. The health district is reporting an active outbreak of 14 cases at Bainbridge High School.

Over the last week, the county’s case rate per 100,000 residents has skyrocketed to 464. A total of 440 cases are in their recommended “isolation period” (10 days after first symptoms.) To date, the number of Kitsap County residents who have initiated vaccination is 73.3%.

Of the 21,340 cases, 872 have been reported on Bainbridge Island, 5,704 in Bremerton, 4,799 in Central Kitsap, 3,344 in North Kitsap and 6,605 in South Kitsap. 16 cases have come from “unknown” areas of the county.

There have been 263 COVID-related deaths in Kitsap. Of the deaths, 101 were ages 80 and older, 64 ages 70-79, 51 ages 60-69, 32 ages 50-59, 11 ages 40-49 and four ages 30-39.
