Costa excels at Seattle academy

Bainbridge Island resident Parker H. Costa was named to the dean’s list at the Seattle Maritime Academy for the 2019 winter quarter.

Costa, a 2018 Olympic College and 2016 Bainbridge High School graduate, is working toward obtaining his Able Bodied Seaman-Special credential as a member of the Academy’s Marine Deck Technology program. Upon graduation he has career aspirations of working for the Washington State Ferry System, with the goal of eventually achieving the rank of captain.

Seattle Maritime Academy students who achieve a 3.5 or better grade point average have been named to the dean’s list recognizing their outstanding academic excellence. Additionally Costa is a lifetime member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, an international academic honor society. Headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, the society has some 2 million members in more than 1,250 chapters throughout the United States and around the world.
