BPA offers more online shows during COVID

Bainbridge Performing Arts is continuing to offer online Bainbridge Pod Accomplice programs during COVID-19 restrictions.

April 2: Cookus Interruptus

How to cook fresh, local, organic, whole foods despite life’s interruptions. It will feature an intro by Cynthia Lair, the inside scoop on the show, fun foody stories, and tasty clips from of Lair’s favorite episodes of Cookus Interruptus.

April 9: Spotlight on Warren Read

Tony Award winner Dinah Manoff chats with author and playwright Warren Read in this episode centering on Read’s new book, One Simple Thing, as well as the pair’s previous work together on two of Read’s short plays, both directed and produced by Manoff.

April 16: La Fiesta de la Música

Features the color and flair of Latin-America’s 19th and 20th century music. From the Caribbean all the way to La Patagonia, you will be enchanted by the melancholic atmosphere of Cuban contradanzas, the ebullience of Brazilian maxixe, and the dramatic passion of Argentinian tango.

April 23: The Lesser-Known Players presents “Only Connect”

In Maria Viera Beatty’s Only Connect, the lives of five lonely people randomly intersect for fleeting moments in a neighborhood bar. Directed by Karen Hauser and featuring Heather Burger, Evan Lenz, Wayne Purves, Alex Sanso, Tyler Weaver and composer Jon Brenner.

April 30: Young Poets Society

Eight young poets share their hopes, inspiration and poetry in conversations with BHS 9th grader Evelyn Cantwell. Four of them are from Bainbridge Island, and four attend New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe, N.M. While the two groups are geographically distant, they are bound by their mutual love of truth-seeking and the interplay of rhythm and words.
