Best Bets for June 2–4 | The Bainbridge Blab

Your weekend at long last has arrived, well maybe not all that long if you had memorial day off, but hey, it’s here and there’s beer.

On Friday get over to the Treehouse Cafe for a special free, 21-and-older concert starting at 8 p.m.

Iain Weigert,Former Bainbridge Islander will return to rock Lynwood’s center stage with the choice fingerpicking, pedal steel guitars and lush arrangements of sorrowful poetry that characterize Weigert’s sound. He hails from Los Angeles by way of New Orleans, by way of the Pacific Northwest, and is now proudly releasing his debut album — which features a variety of musicians including Daniel Romano (City and Colour), Matt Pynn (Norah Jones) and many others.

Get creative on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and tour the new home of BARN (Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network)! Visit all 11 artisan studios, and participate in hands-on activities in Woodworking, fiber arts, jewelry arts, printmaking, kitchen arts, and more. Food, music and fun are all on tap at this new center for craft and creativity. The center is located at 8890 Three Tree Lane NE.

Also on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. celebrate KiDiMu’s Birthday Bash. Inclusivity and community shall be the order of the day at the Kids Discovery Museum’s annual birthday bash celebration, happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s party theme, “Celebrating with our Neighbors,” was chosen to highlight the museum’s many collaborators, KiDiMu officials said. Featured performances, demonstrations and activities will engage visitors of all ages in interactive experiences, and admission is free all day. The bash will feature complimentary family attractions, demonstrations and entertainment on the Island Gateway Plaza, in front of the museum.

On Sunday head to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art at 7 p.m. and check out Good Karma Blues, a Bainbridge-based blues/rock band, set to bring their sonic stylings to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art auditorium in a special concert event to benefit Bainbridge Youth Services.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show, sponsored by Island Fitness, begins at 7 p.m. There will be a cash bar. Tickets, $10 each, are on sale now and available at www.goodkarmablues.bpt.me.

Then think back on all the good times you had because it’s going to be another five whole days before you get another chance to pretend you don’t have any responsibilities again.
