Best Bets for July 14–16 | The Bainbridge Blab

This weekend is going to be for mind, body and soul. Supposedly art feeds at least a couple of those things and we’re pretty sure yoga covers the rest. So get all “Eat, Pray, Love” with weekend and check out these upcoming events.

If you’re an artist struggling to get your work out there, and need some ideas on how to best display your artwork for websites and other media, then you’re going to want to attend Dinah Satterwhite’s “Photographing Your Arts & Crafts.” The event will be a hands-on, half-day studio workshop, at 1 p.m. at PhotoImageArt Studio. Learn to take better photos of your own artwork, with creative tips and techniques. Bring your camera and art samples. Class size is limited; fee is $75. Call 206-842-0504 or e-mail dinahsatterwhite@comcast.net to register.

On Saturday mellow out with your cello out… well, violin actually. Head over to the Dayaalu Center at 7 p.m. for Swara Yoga with Ganesh. The evening promises to be an amazing event with world renowned violin Maestro Ganesh in an evening of exploration of the divine through music. Heal yourself with music; chant for body, mind and soul. The fee is $20; advanced registration appreciated.

On Sunday treat yourself to a nice relaxing crafternoon by heading down to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art’s Community Craft-in. Hosted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the classroom on the second floor, the community craft in is the perfect opportunity to work on your crafty projects. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a snack or lunch. For more information contact Education Associate Heather Griffin at 206-451-4017 or at heather@biartmuseum.org.

Hopefully by the end of Sunday you will have purged all stress from your body and will be refreshed and ready to tackle the week to come.
