Bainbridge Rotary hosts Attorney General as guest speaker

Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson will speak at the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island dinner meeting on Monday, Sept. 9 at Wing Point Country Club.

Rotary officials said Ferguson’s talk will cover the recent work of his office, including significant issues facing Washington state. He will also take questions from the audience.

Ferguson is Washington State’s 18th attorney general. As the state’s chief legal officer, he is committed to protecting the people of Washington against powerful interests that don’t play by the rules.

“As a civic organization, we are fortunate to be able to provide the opportunity for our members and the public to hear directly from and interact with elected officials,” said Ed Gilbert, president of Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island. “We’re pleased that Attorney General Ferguson has agreed to come talk to us about the activities of his office.”

Ferguson is a fourth generation Washingtonian, and a graduate of the University of Washington and New York University Law School.

The public is invited to attend; the event begins at 6 p.m with a buffet dinner meeting. There is a $25 charge for the dinner and program. Reservations are required; contact at Kate Smith at jksmith6225@gmail.com.
