Business opening
An Open House preview of the new Tabletop Enclave at the Coppertop Business Park on Bainbridge Island will take place this weekend.
The business officially opens Dec. 2. The board game club is located at 9727 Coppertop Loop NE Suite 202. Family game favorites include: Catan or Ticket To Ride; abstract games like Azui or Seikatsu; co-op adventure games like Return to Dark Tower or Horrified; brain burners like Brass or Ark Nova; and silly games like Wrong Party or Things in the Rings.
The business has game masters to help you learn quickly. Day rates and membership options, along with special events, workshops and classes. Minimum age is 10.
Free shots
The Kitsap Public Health District is offering free routine immunizations for those 18 and younger in Bremerton Dec. 11.
The KPHD office is at 345 6th St., Suite 300. More clinics will be announced later. For details go to kitsappublichealth.org/clinic
The shots are for MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap/D TaP, HPV, Meningococcal, Pneumococcal, and Varicella. For those interested, make an appointment at 360-728-2007 and leave a message for a return call. Times are 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. For flu and COVID shots you don’t need an appointment.
Waste closure
The Household Hazardous Waste facility at 5551 SW Imperial Way, Bremerton will be closed for repairs to the fire suppression system from Dec. 16 through January 15, 2025.
Products labeled with the words “danger, caution, flammable, warning, toxic, poison, or combustible” require special disposal to protect human health and the environment. The facility accepts those items from Kitsap, Mason and Jefferson county households at no charge and from businesses by appointment.
Kitsap County will open a new hazardous waste collection facility in North Kitsap in 2025 or 2026. Olympic View Transfer Station and the Recycling and Garbage Facilities in Hansville, Olalla and Silverdale accept many hazardous household items for free.
Injury accidents
A state trooper took a 35-year-old man to the hospital after the Auburn man caused the injury accident at 1:50 a.m. Nov. 24 on Highway 3 at Eldorado Hill Road, a state patrol news release says.
The man faces charges of DUI and reckless driving. The release says two vehicles were northbound when the trailing car struck a vehicle from behind driven by a 31-year-old Bremerton man. Neither he or the 24-year-old female passenger from Bremerton were hurt.
Meanwhile, a 34-year-old Bremerton woman was injured in an accident on Highway 3 Nov. 21 at 6:21 a.m.
She was driving south and another vehicle driven by a 61-year-old Poulsbo man north when her vehicle swerved into the other lane, leading to a collision, a State Patrol news release says. She was transported to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. She faces DUI charges.
Rayonier awards
Rayonier, a leading timberland real estate investment trust, has awarded $63,700 to 27 nonprofits across the Northwest.
Three of the organizations are in Kitsap County: Martha & Mary Lutheran Services, North Kitsap Fishline Food Bank and Port Gamble S’Klallam Foundation. The grants will support a range of programs including educational, environmental, cultural, civic, and health and human services initiatives.
