Bainbridge chamber hosts annual honors banquet

The Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce will host its annual honors banquet from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 at Wing Point Golf & Country Club.

The event honors businesses that are members of the chamber that have contributed above and beyond to the Bainbridge community.

The new board of directors will also be introduced at the gala.

Organizers said Congressman Derek Kilmer will be a special guest.

The winners of the awards for 2019 — selected through a double-blind judging process — will be announced at the dinner. The nominees are:

Small Business of the Year: Bainbridge Computer Services, Bainbridge Heating & Air, Bainbridge Ready, Bergh Images, Carly’s Rolling Bay Café, Good Egg, and Judge Plumbing Company;

Medium Business of the Year: Custom Printing, TILZ, and Windermere Real Estate;

Large Business of the Year: Kitsap Bank, and Town & Country Market;

Sustainable Business of the Year: Grounds for Change, and Ios Ranch;

Nonprofit of the Year: Housing Resources Bainbridge, Island Volunteer Caregivers, and West Sound Wildlife Shelter;

Citizen of the Year/2019 Grand Old 4th Parade Marshal: Rita Elsberry and Chris Miller.
