Bainbridge blotter | You gotta move

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

SUNDAY, DEC. 29

7:50 a.m. Police arrested a 50-year-old Port Angeles man after he was discovered living in a truck with a woman, 55, also of Port Angeles, at Rotary Centennial Park.

Police saw the truck during routine patrol and noted it had been parked in the exact same spot the day before. It had a flat front right tire as well as bags in the back and a broken rear window.

Upon approaching they saw two people inside. One, the woman, identified herself as the owner, though her ID had been stolen, she said, at the Clearwater Casino. She provided a Suquamish Police Department business card with the case number written on it.

The man provided a driver’s license and was found to have an open county warrant for “failure to appear” in relation to a charge of driving with suspended license. He was arrested and taken to Kitsap County Jail without incident.

Police assisted the woman in fixing her damaged tire and informed her of the regulations on Bainbridge regarding camping.
