Bainbridge blotter | Unwelcome intruder at Gazzam Lake

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 2

2:58 p.m. An unknown person broke a gate at Gazzam Lake and drove a vehicle onto the nearby vegetation.

A parks district employee called police to report the damage to the gate, estimated at about $200.

There was no damage to the vegetation.

There are no suspects.

A report was filed.

6:30 p.m. A two-car collision at the intersection of Winslow Way and Madison Avenue resulted in no injuries.

A taxi van driven by a Bremerton man had stopped at the intersection and was preparing to turn left from Winslow south onto Madison. A Bainbridge man, 31, driving a 2009 Subaru Forester was on the west side of the intersection, proceeding east, and then stopped suddenly while in the intersection for a pedestrian.

The taxi driver, not anticipating the stop, continued through and struck the rear driver’s side of the Subaru.
