Bainbridge blotter | Teen driver flips Volvo

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

SUNDAY, OCT. 7

2:50 p.m. A 16-year-old Bainbridge teen in a 2007 Volvo XC90 went off the road in a rollover non-injury accident on Baker Hill Road at Deerpath Lane.

A caller said the driver went into the ravine next to the road and climbed out the rear window to safety.

The driver said he had been changing the radio station while heading east on Baker Hill Road “slightly over” the posted speed limit of 30 mph.

He lost control and the vehicle spun 180 degrees, went off the roadway, hit a tree, then spun another 180 degrees and rolled over at the same time.

The vehicle finally came to reset after landing upright and facing east.

The Volvo was towed and the teen was cited for inattentive driving.
