Thursday, April 19

9:19 a.m. Mail was stolen from two residents on Day Road. A passerby found the mail on the side of the road. Some envelopes had been torn open. Police contacted the owners and returned the mail.

9:12 p.m. A vehicle was stolen from a residence on Just a Meer Lane. The women reporting the incident said that her husband was arrested in the vehicle, along with a group of his friends, and she just got it out of impound. When she brought it home she left the keys in it. Police filled out a stolen vehicle report.

Friday, April 20

9:52 a.m. Someone stole recently placed plants out of the ground at a school district building on High School Road.

3:08 p.m. A resident on High School Road reported that someone scratched the door of her car overnight. She believed it was done intentionally. The damage was estimated at $500.

11:52 p.m. Police responded to call regarding a car that had been abandoned in a ditch along Sportsman Club Road. When police found the car, no driver was present, however they did discover empty alcoholic beverages on the floor of the vehicle. A purse was also left behind with a driver’s license, credit cards and cash. Police entered them into evidence.

Saturday, April 21

3:23 a.m. Police responded to a noise complaint at an establishment on Winslow Way. When police arrived, the area was not overly loud.

7:50 a.m. A salon on Ericksen Avenue was broken into over night. Someone forced open the rear door to the business. However, no items of value or cash were stolen from the business.

10:11 a.m. A wine-tasting room on Winslow Way was broken into and burglarized over night. The rear door of the business had been forced open. A cash register was taken as well as a jacket left in the store. The doors damage was estimated at $250. The jacket’s costs was $50. Only $180 cash was taken, but the cash register is valued at approximately $200.

4:33 p.m. A resident on Old Creosote Hill Road reported their neighbor to police for roasting coffee beans.

According to the resident, she had a stop work order placed on her neighbor because when she roasted coffee beans, it released toxins into the air and made her cough.

The neighbor, who roasts coffee beans at her home business, was unaware of any stop work order, and had already stopped roasting for the day. She was advised to contact the city’s code enforcement office as soon as possible.
