Bainbridge blotter | No party tonight

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department.

THURSDAY, AUG. 3

7:25 p.m. Police were called to Safeway in response to a possible attempted theft.

Three unfamiliar women entered the store and began behaving suspiciously, one employee told police. She watched as the first woman eventually left, apparently carrying nothing, and then the second, with a large purse that “looked full.”

The third woman was carrying a cooler which appeared “pretty heavy.” She sat it down and walked quickly out of the store when she noticed the employee watching her.

Inside the cooler, the employee found $631.85 worth of assorted alcohol.

SATURDAY, AUG. 5

12:21 p.m. A 22-year-old Bainbridge woman was allegedly threatened by her mother’s husband over the phone.

The woman said her mother was at home, off the island, recovering from a recent brain surgery, and they’d been texting each other all morning. The husband became aware of this and got angry, then told her not to contact her mother anymore.
