Bainbridge blotter | Mini Cooper crash

SATURDAY, AUG. 25

12:22 a.m. A 22-year-old Bainbridge Island woman was driving a 2005 Mini Cooper north on Grow Avenue and did not stop for the stop sign before turning west onto High School Road. She struck the concrete curb, drove over the grass median and onto another curb into the front lot of Bainbridge High School.

The front passenger wheel was severely damaged and the car cut into the blacktop.

The car was towed from the scene.

A report was filed.

SUNDAY, AUG. 26

3:01 p.m. A 61-year-old Bainbridge woman drove her 2018 Toyota RAV4 into a 2009 BMW 328.

The BMW was stopped at the intersection of Wyatt Way and Grow Avenue, going east on Wyatt. The Toyota was stopped on Grow, heading north.

The woman did not wait for the BMW to move through the intersection, saying she was talking to her sister and not paying attention. She moved forward, turning left, and drove directly into the BMW.

The woman was cited for inattentive driving.

There were no injuries.
