Bainbridge blotter | Frosted over

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

MONDAY, MARCH 9

9:11 a.m. A 44-year-old woman was driving east on High School Road when she struck a trailer parked in the road because she couldn’t see out her windshield.

Workers for a construction company were using the trailer to move a piece of machinery, and a flagger was directing traffic around the equipment.

The driver told police she could not see out of her windshield because it was covered with frost.

The flagger said he had been standing in the roadway directing traffic when the woman approached in a 1993 Ford Taurus. The flagger told police the woman’s windshield was completely frosted over and she made no attempt to stop when she approached him.

The flagger said he jumped out of the way and yelled “Stop!” but the woman kept going and hit the trailer.
