THURSDAY, JULY 27

4:45 p.m. A 2008 Toyota Prius, driven by a 23-year-old Bainbridge man, was struck from behind by a 2012 Ford Focus driven by a 36-year-old Seattle woman while both cars were driving north on Highway 305 in heavy traffic.

The man had stopped for traffic, but the woman, who said she was distracted by the passenger, did not notice and was unable to stop in time.

There was moderate, superficial damage to both cars, but nobody was injured and both were driven from the scene.

The woman was cited for inattentive driving.
