American Legion to host 9-11 remembrance

American Legion Colin Hyde Post 172 will host a remembrance ceremony in honor of those who were killed during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, starting at 8:30, and with a special moment of silence starting at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at the American Legion Hall (7880 NE Bucklin Hill Road).

Bainbridge Island Mayor Val Tollefson will participate in the proclamations, set to begin at 9:03 a.m., which will be followed by remarks from Bainbridge Police Chief Matthew Hamner and Fire Chief Hank Teran.

The program is expected to last slightly longer than an hour. All are welcome to attend.
