Agate Pass Bridge to be closed to one lane at night starting next week

Nighttime travelers using the Highway 305 Agate Pass Bridge can expect possible delays starting next week as work crews get the span ready to be repainted.

The bridge will be closed to just one-way alternating traffic starting the evening of Tuesday, June 25, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The lane closure will allow contractor crews to install a work platform and containment system that crews will use to repaint the Agate Pass Bridge.

Lane closures are planned from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Tuesday, June 24 through Friday, June 28.

Drivers will also face one-way alternating traffic from 9 p.m. Sunday, June 30 to 5 a.m. Monday, July 1.

WSDOT is encouraging drivers to plan ahead to help prevent delays and stay alert inside the work zone.

Oversized loads will be prohibited from using the Agate Pass Bridge from July 1 through Dec. 1.
