A large crowd packed the courtyard next to Bainbridge High’s Paski Gymnasium for Memorial Day services hosted by the American Legion’s Colin Hyde Post 172.

The post and members of the community lay a wreath and flowers at the base of the Veterans Memorial, and Post Adjutant Bill Beck then read the names of deceased Bainbridge veterans before Chaplain Tom Vargas shared a remembrance prayer.

Monday’s ceremony marked the last one that will be held at the memorial in the short term, as the memorial will be removed and placed into storage as demolition of the BHS 100 Building gets underway and a new building is constructed.

The post’s Memorial Day program wrapped up at the Post 172 Legion hall, after remarks by guest speakers Kevin Greene and Terry Garguta.

The Review’s Brian Kelly shared this collection of his favority images from this year’s Memorial Day ceremony.
