56 active cases of COVID-19 reported in Kitsap County

140 cases reported in July so far

On Monday, the Kitsap Public Health District announced another increase of confirmed infections of COVID-19 throughout the county, bringing the total number of infections to 406 and a positive test rate of just under 2.5 percent.

A total of 56 cases are considered “active” by KPHD, meaning that they are “confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases … participating in daily monitoring.” Another 280 were categorized as “active contacts” or individuals determined to be close contacts of a lab-confirmed case and are participating in daily monitoring.

A total of three COVID-19 related deaths have been reported by health officials across Kitsap County, one dating back to March and two in April.

A total of 16,083 residents have tested negative for COVID-19. So far, 140 infections have been confirmed by the health district in July.

Of the 406 cases, 17 have been reported on Bainbridge Island, 121 in Bremerton, 112 in Central Kitsap, 70 in North Kitsap and 86 in South Kitsap.

The age breakdown for confirmed cases is as follows:

0 – 19: 42

20 – 29: 92

30 – 39: 70

40 – 49: 52

50 – 59: 66

60 – 69: 39

70 – 79: 30

80 and older: 15
