YES! Magazine founder shares her quest for hope on Nov. 15

In the summer of 2015, Sarah van Gelder found herself in crisis.

For 20 years, she’d been editing YES! Magazine declaring that a better world is possible, but, out in the world, things seemed that to be getting worse. Had she been kidding herself all those years? Were the changes she yearned for really possible? Was it already too late to turn things around? She needed to find out. So van Gelder hit the road.

Driving a 12-year-old Toyota pickup with a tiny camper, she traveled 12,000 miles. She visited Indian reservations on the Great Plains and “dying” cities in the Rust Belt, mountain towns in Appalachia and border towns in the Southwest. And what she found restored her hope.

Take an inspiring journey though the backroads of America with van Gelder at 7 p.m.Tuesday, Nov. 15. “The Revolution Where You Live” begins at The Traveler, 256 Winslow Way.
