Route 66 revisited at this week’s Travelogue

The next Travelogue is “Get Your Kicks on Route 66!”

The free program returns at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 to the Bainbridge Public Library.

Bainbridge Island road trippers Dave and Kathleen Thorne will share their accidental excursion into a bygone America of classic motels, old-school diners and gas stations, kitschy tourist stops and retro food.

If you ever need a reminder about why our country is called “America the Beautiful,” gas up the car and head for Route 66.

The program is co-sponsored by the Bainbridge Public Library and the Traveler.
