Ovation! Performing Arts Northwest, formerly Ovation! Musical Theatre Bainbridge, is offering a record number of classes, workshops and master classes for all ages now through spring.

“We are delighted to be dramatically expanding our course offerings through a new partnership with Bainbridge Island Parks and Recreation,” said Lynn Smith, Ovation! board president.

“We are also thrilled to be expanding our list of teaching artists, all of whom are theatre and music industry professionals,” she added.

Todd Hulet, the originator of Ovation!’s popular show choir and Glee Camp programs, is returning for one week only from New York to lead Winter Break Glee Camp starting Monday, Feb. 16 through Friday, Feb. 20.

“Todd is part of Ovation!’s fabric. He served as music director for several years for our mainstage division and launched our Performing Arts Academy and youth choir programs,” Smith said. “We are so pleased he was able to free up his busy schedule to spend a week with us here.”

Camps are available for four age groups and no audition is required.

Ovation! artistic director Ron Milton is taking on additional class responsibilities this session, as well. In addition to acting and makeup classes for all ages, Milton is leading a Shakespeare Camp during Spring Break for ages 12 and up.

“I selected my favorite Shakespeare play for this camp, ‘The Taming of the Shrew,’ and I can’t wait to dive into it with a great group of talented young people,” he said.
