“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” the beloved 1971 film starring Gene Wilder and based on the classic Roald Dahl novel, will return to the big screen for a special one-time-only revival screening at Bainbridge Cinemas at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 29.

The film will be accompanied by special commentary from Turner Classic Movie hosts, who will provide insight, background and more, making the film come alive like never before.

Directed by Mel Stuart and starring Wilder as the legendary candy man, this movie brings to the screen the endlessly appetizing delights of Dahl’s cherished book. Coated with flavorful tunes and production designs that are a visual treat for the eyes, this effervescent musical never fails to enchant young and old.

On a whirlwind tour of Willy’s incredible, edible realm of chocolate waterfalls, elfish Oompa-Loompas and industrial-sized confections, a boy named Charlie (Peter Ostrum) discovers the sweetest secret of all: a generous, loving heart.

As an added treat, this film will be shown in the same aspect ratio as when it was originally released in cinemas in 1971.

Tickets are $10.50 for adults and $8.50 for children and seniors. Visit www.farawayentertainment.com to purchase and learn more.
