Get filled up with music at ‘Gobblefest’

You’ll be able to gobble up rocking music from five local bands at the fifth “Gobblefest” on Bainbridge Island, raising money for Helpline House.

The event is 5-11 p.m. Nov. 19 at the American Legion Hall, 7880 NE Bucklin Hill Road. The music-for-food charity event is actually celebrating its 12th year raising a total of $64,000 and also playing in Poulsbo and Kirkland.

Founder Brian Feldtman said: “In 2009 for my 50th birthday wish, I wanted to play a rock show one night with every band I’ve ever been in. While we didn’t get all of the bands I did get to play with 11 different incarnations of groups I’ve been in since junior high school and up to that point in time. The musicians had so much fun we decided to turn it into an annual event.”

The event was canceled in 2020, but the show on BI in 2021 raised over $10,000.

Co-organizer Michael Wright added, “The local community of musicians has really rallied around this cause by donating their time and talent to put on a great show for a great cause.”

Sauced Food Truck will be there along with Bainbridge Brewing and Fletcher Bay Winery with profits also going to Helpline House. The event will also have auctions and raffles and even a “sing-with-the-band” option.

A $25 donation is suggested. You must be 21 to attend. Tickets are available through Eventbrite (search for Gobblefest) or you can donate at the door if the venue is not full.
