Vote to keep BHS as a state-of-the-art school | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Our two children will graduate from Bainbridge High School in 2030 and 2034. We are confident they will be well-equipped with critical thinking skills, passion, and a bright future. We are voting in favor of the capital levy on the February ballot because we want to keep our schools strong for the next generation of island students.

BISD is placing this $15 million levy on the ballot after an unprecedented escalation in our region’s construction industry. These funds will create a bridge to allow the district to complete the 2016 bond project. As a result, we will rebuild the 100 Building at Bainbridge High School, move the commons to the center of campus, and transform the current commons to an auditorium with seating for 350 to 400 people.

Please join us to ensure Bainbridge High School continues to be a state-of-the-art facility, for today’s students and tomorrow’s leaders.
