Trillium Trail Run supports BI trails | Letter to the editor

To the editor

Thank you from the Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation to all the runners and walkers who came out for the third annual Trillium Trail Run under sunny skies on Saturday, May 12.

Nearly 300 runners hit the trails at Battle Point Park and around the Grand Forest for the 10K/5K event, fast becoming the area’s premier spring trail run. What a great morning!

The parks foundation would like to thank the many, many volunteers who made this event happen — too many to name.

We couldn’t have done it without the support of amazing community sponsors, led by Title Sponsors Heyday Farm and Jason Shutt, Realtor, with additional support from Wildernest and PacWesty.

All proceeds from the Trillium help fund the summer trails crew, building and maintaining Bainbridge’s incredible island-wide trail system, now 37 miles and counting. See www.biparksfoundation.org to see what we’re doing next.

See you on the trails, and at next year’s Trillium 10K and 5K!
