Put the ‘public’ back in public lands | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

We are voting for Michael Pollock for parks commissioner, because we believe he will focus on listening to the citizens and will prioritize accountability and fiscal responsibility when serving.

We believe he will carefully weigh suggesting expensive projects requiring bond issues, to seek less-expensive alternatives such as working with volunteer and other organizations to reach goals, and to work with other taxing districts to provide citizens with transparent information about taxes and the burdens of contemplated bond issues.

Michael is running against a 14-year incumbent who has, in our opinion, not demonstrated that he is interested in public input. Let’s get Michael elected and bring the “public” back into decisions about our public lands!
