Pollock will be a steadying hand | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Having watched Michael Pollock on the park board, I am excited to see him make a bid for city council.

The council has been under huge special interest pressures to make million dollars decisions that come up for a vote without or in spite of public involvement (the Harrison debacle for one, and Suzuki spot zone for another).

Meanwhile some of those same interests have sidelined council people from their mission with a ridiculous series of petty issues, from wood chips to missing text messages.

Michael will be a steadying hand on the helm, and comes to the council with strong environmental credentials, and a desire to focus on fiscal responsibility, transparency in major decision-making and putting to a vote major expenses and tax increases.

With him on board, I am excited our leadership will get back to doing what they were asked to do: representing all citizens and spending time governing. Please join me in voting for Michael Pollock for city council.
