Permanent pickleball courts are needed on BI | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Pickleball originated on Bainbridge Island in the summer of 1965 and was created by Barney McCallum, Bill Bell and Senator Joel Pritchard. Unfortunately Bainbridge Island lacks permanent pickleball courts on the island. Some cities around the Seattle area already have permanent pickleball courts including Sequim, Kingston and Gig Harbor.

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport. Pickleball is an easy game to learn and fantastic game to play, the pickleball players of Bainbridge Island will gladly welcome all levels to play the game at Battle Point Park Monday through Friday from 9 to 11 in the morning.

Any and all ideas to get permanent courts on the island are all welcome and appreciated.

Hope to see you all on the courts!
