Roundabout bad idea

To the editor:

The proposed 305/High school road roundabout may or may not be a good thing for cars/trucks/buses, but it will surely be a problem for pedestrians.

I don’t see how walkers can safely cross a roundabout on that busy road without blinking lights to stop the motorized traffic. Blinking pedestrian lights would defeat the roundabout idea of facilitating traffic flow. The Sound to Olympics trail when completed, is sure to add many more pedestrians who will have to make two crossovers to get from the existing trail on the east side of 305 to the expanded trail that will continue up the west side of 305.

I cross the road here once or twice a week on my walks around town and am worried about my safety.
