Lying Trump
To the editor:
We all heard President Trump exclaim at his rallies that he hates his enemies and will retaliate in any way he can. We also have seen him humiliate leaders both at home and abroad. Hatred was and is his motivating force, and yet we elected him President of the United States. He said a myriad of times that he was going to lower prices and inflation on day one of his Presidency.
On the 100th day of his presidency, he starts a tariff war. Then he says we have to wait years to feel the benefit while we screw other countries and many of our own small businesses. I would call that lying to the electorate. But does that surprise you? He said he never heard of plan 2025, which is now being used to destroy the fabric of our country. Falsehood, otherwise known as lying, is his strength and he is not afraid to use it. If you lie with conviction, people believe you and they have.
Now, Trump wants to divide the world among the great nuclear powers, Russia and China. The problem with this is that neither Russia or China gives a rats-ass about their own people. It’s personal power that Putin and Xi want and they don’t care how they get it and who they hurt along the way. Trump wants to join the club. Look out, America. If you think your life will improve following Trump with his imperialist goals, just look to those two countries.
If hating, lying and humiliating are the driving force behind our government, it’s guaranteed that our freedoms and our elections are in trouble and only we the people can unite against losing them.
